Volthium Battery 12.8V 400Ah (Group 8D)

The 12 V 400 AH LiFePO4 battery in ABS, 8D format, specifically designed by Volthium for energy storage banks ranging from 5 kWh to 20 kWh and to serve the clientele of boats, sailboats, motorized vehicles, and for industrial use.

The Volthium 12V400AH Batteries, with or without integrated heating system, meet ABYC standards, including the E-13 clause, on communication.

Indeed, the battery integrates communication allowing the customer to set an audible and visual alert before the batteries enter protection mode. Thanks to their cell phone and the Volthium Monitor app, the client can set an alert for a specific %SOC, of their choice, in addition to setting a warning alert for high temperature, and low temperature. This feature is available on several Volthium Batteries. Moreover, the 12V400AH batteries are CSA UL1973 certified.

These batteries have the particularity of having anaccessible and reserved chamber for the BMS. This makes themrepairable if needed, andextends the lifespan of the cells by limiting heat transfer to them. Moreover, a private chamber allows foran increased usable temperature range for these batteries.

This lithium battery features an integrated cooling system that allows heat to be expelled from the battery via its conductive aluminum plate. The heat sink further extends the temperature usage range while enhancing the performance of the integrated battery management system (BMS). It is also possible to attach an additional cooling system. Another Volthium exclusivity!

This new generation of batteries is also equipped with a stainless steel button, which allows disabling the discharge while keeping the recharge enabled. Extremely convenient when you want to leave the batteries connected to the solar system during storage, without worrying that they might get drained by parasitic discharges.

This brand-new battery, whose case is exclusive to Volthium has2x RJ45 ports, with gold-plated pins, allowing forcommunication via the RS485 protocol. This connection also serves to transmit the internal battery data to theVictron environment (on their VE.CAN protocol). To do this, get the Volthium HUB accessory, another exclusivity resulting from our internal and exclusive development.

Moreover, the RJ45 connectivity allows you to add the Volthium bluetooth transmitter, which can manage up to 4 batteries when paired with the HUB.

Not only does this LiFePO4 accumulator resist vibrations, but it also has a higher discharge range than the competition. Indeed, this batterycan be discharged down to -25 degrees, compared to -20 degrees for the competition. And if you choose the self-heating version, itcan be recharged down to -40 degrees. This innovation is made possible because the cells in Volthium batteries come from the automotive industry.

Exclusive double self-heating technology

Note that the battery is equipped with two internal heating systems. The traditional smart system activates when you charge the battery while its temperature is below zero degrees Celsius. The second system, called manual; activates when you apply a voltage to the battery’s H+ (M6) positive connector. This manual heating system is not automated in any way. If you connect the battery's positive terminal (M8) to the H+ (M6) connector with a small piece of cable, it will activate using the battery's energy.
* Caution, it is necessary to use a timer to avoid leaving the heating system on.
* The manual heating system is reserved for professionals and operates down to -25 only.

Warranty of 10 years, with a useful lifespan of around 15 years and beyond.

This manufacturer of BMS microcontrollers is globally recognized in the field of electric automobiles, in addition to being known for its long-standing collaboration with Nasa and the US army. The programming and communication protocols are entirely developed by our engineers in Quebec.
