Volthium Battery 48V 100Ah (Group 8D)

The Volthium 48V 100AH batteries, with or without an integrated heating system, meet ABYC standards, including clause E-13, related to communication.

Indeed, the battery incorporates communication allowing the customer to set an auditory and visual alert before the batteries go into protection. Thanks to their cell phone and the Volthium Monitor app, the customer can set an alert for a specific %SOC, of their choice, in addition to setting a warning alert for high temperature, and low temperature. This functionality is available on several Volthium batteries. Moreover, the batteries 51.2V 100AH are CSA UL1973 certified.

The battery is designed for energy storage banks ranging from 5kWh to 20kWh.

These batteries have the feature of aaccessible and reserved chamber for the BMS. This makes themrepairable if necessary, andextends the life of the cells by limiting heat transmission to them. Additionally, a private chamber allows forincreasing the usable temperature range of these batteries.

Additionally, this lithium battery has an integrated cooling system that allows the heat to be expelled from the battery via its aluminum conductive plate. The heat sink further increases the usable temperature range, while promoting better performance at the integrated BMS level. Furthermore, it is possible to attach an additional cooling system. This new generation of batteries is also equipped with a stainless steel button, which allows disabling the discharge while keeping the recharge activated. Extremely practical when you want to leave the batteries connected to the solar system during storage, while eliminating the fear that they have been drained by parasitic discharges.

This brand new battery, whose enclosure is exclusive to Volthium, has2x RJ45 ports, with gold-plated pins, allowingcommunication over the RS485 protocol. This connection also serves to transmit the internal battery information to theVictron environment (on their VE.CAN protocol).

Furthermore, the RJ45 connectivity allows you to add the Volthium Bluetooth transmitter, which can handle the management of up to 4 batteries when paired with the HUB.

Not only does this LiFePO4 accumulator resist vibrations, but it also has a lower discharge limit than the competition. Indeed, this batterycan be discharged down to -25 degrees Celsius, instead of -20 degrees Celsius for the competition. And if you opt for the self-heating version, it can be recharged down to -40 degrees Celsius. This innovation is possible due to the fact that the cells in Volthium batteries come from the automotive industry.

BMS:

The core ('core') of the BMS is produced by the American company Texas Instrument. This manufacturer of BMS microcontrollers is recognized worldwide in the field of electric vehicles, in addition to being known for its long-standing collaboration with NASA and the U.S. military. The programming and communication protocols are entirely developed by our engineers, in Quebec.

Cells:

The quality of the LFP cells is paramount. Indeed, it is what ensures you have a durable product with long-term performance that will be reliable.

The ABS 24V solar storage batteries are equipped with A+ GRADE prismatic cells, manufactured by Volkswagen Group.
