Stat-X® Fire Suppression System: Thermal Units

Stat-X® thermally operated fire suppression systems are self-contained units. They integrate their own patented detection mechanism, eliminating the need for separate detection and triggering controls. With a Stat-X® thermal unit, you can provide a fire suppression system installed at a fraction of the cost of most engineered systems. The beauty of Stat-X thermal units is that the Stat-X unit functions both as a fire detector and as a fire extinguisher. When the generator temperature reaches a fixed activation temperature, the generator activates and floods the protected space with Stat-X condensed aerosols, quickly extinguishing the fire.

Since the Stat-X generator also serves as a fire detector, there is no need to install expensive control panels, wiring, and associated installation costs. The Stat-X agent is stored at its discharge point, so there are no agent tanks or piping, and therefore no associated expenses.

Stat-X thermally operated units are mounted as a single unit. It is a single unit for a single space. If a fire starts in the protected space where a Stat-X thermal unit is mounted, once the heat of the unit reaches a fixed activation temperature, the unit discharges, thus suppressing the fire.

Upon activation, the Stat-X condensed aerosol floods the space, interrupts the chemical chain reaction, and causes a rapid collapse of the flames, thereby smothering the fire. Additionally, the agent remains suspended for several minutes to prevent re-ignition. Stat-X is approved for class A (surface), B, and C fires, giving it near-universal application.

Stat-X thermal units are available in various sizes to protect special hazard applications. These units are suitable for a wide range of applications in smaller enclosures. They are available in sizes ranging from 30 grams to 1,000 grams.
